A free, honest SEO audit for a single page

SEO Audit downloads one page, checks it against about 80 known problems, and tells you what to change and how to change it. There is no sign-up, no trial, and no paid tier.

What it does

Paste a URL and the tool fetches the page the way a crawler would: redirects followed manually so every hop and status code is visible, character encoding detected from the response headers, the <meta> tags and the HTTP Content-Type header. It then parses the HTML properly rather than with regular expressions, which is what lets it handle unclosed tags, quoted attribute values containing >, multiple <script> blocks and JSON-LD that contains HTML-like characters.

Findings are grouped into eight categories: technical, on-page, performance, structured data, images, links, social and accessibility. Every issue carries an explanation of why it matters and, where a fix is mechanical, the exact code to paste in.

What it does not do

It audits one URL at a time. It does not crawl your whole site, so it cannot tell you about broken pages nobody linked to. It has no notion of your analytics, your backlink profile, your competitors, or your search visibility over time.

It is also not a ranking predictor. Nothing here claims to estimate where a page will rank, because that depends on hundreds of signals the tool cannot see.

How accurate is it?

Two different things are going on, and it is worth keeping them apart.

Performance data is Google’s own. Core Web Vitals and the performance score come straight from the PageSpeed Insights API, which runs a full Lighthouse audit. That number is not an estimate produced by this tool.

Everything else is a heuristic. Checks are static analysis of one response. Colour contrast is computed with the exact WCAG 2.1 formulae from the stylesheets, but it cannot see text over images or gradients, or colours injected by JavaScript at runtime. Treat reported contrast pairs as a strong starting point and verify them by hand, not as a certification.

A missing <meta name="description"> is a fact about the page, not a prediction. A “slow” image is a judgement based on its declared dimensions against its file size. The tool is most reliable on the first kind and most useful, but least certain, on the second.

Not affiliated with Google

This is an independent tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Google. It queries Google’s public PageSpeed Insights API and Google’s public robots.txt and sitemap.xml endpoints, but it does not have access to Search Console, your ranking data, or anything else private.

Privacy, in one line

Signed out, the URL you submit is audited and discarded. Signed in, it is saved to your account along with its results. There are no analytics scripts, and the only cookies set are the session and free-run ones the service needs. Full detail on the Privacy page.

Found a bug or a wrong result?

Reports of incorrect findings are genuinely useful, because the usual failure mode of a tool like this is quietly reporting a problem that is not there. See Contact.
